It’s dedicated to Murugan
The main sanctum of the temple has the statue of Murugan. This is because it’s commonly dedicated to Murugan who is also called Subramanian or Sri Thendayuthapani by the locals.
It’s been built by the Chettiar community
Earlier, this temple was also known as the Chettiar temple as it was established by the Nattukottai Chettiars. They were devotees of Murugan and established many such temples in many parts of the world.
Celebrations around this temple
Those who spend their holidays in the month of February at nearby resorts such as Grand Park City Hall which is considered as the best luxury hotel in Singapore by many tourists will get exposed to the Thaipusam celebrations. On the eve of each Thaipusam, there is a procession that starts from the Srinivasa Perumal Temple and it ends at this Sri Thendayuthapani Temple.
