The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is located inside Singapore’s Chinatown district. The Tooth Relic that it houses was originally discovered in Myanmar in 1980 by the venerable Cakkapala, who kept it enshrined for over twenty years. He finally gifted it to the venerable Shi Fazhao during a trip to Singapore, asking that a temple be built to keep the Tooth, when enough funds where raised. The Ground Breaking Ceremony took place in 2005 and the temple was opened to the public in 2008. Daily rituals are strictly followed inside.

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is located along South Bridge Road and is easily accessible. Those who plan on visiting it can take the MRT and get down at the Chinatown MRT Station. The temple is open every day, including public holidays, from 7 am to 7 pm. While there is no entrance fee, visitors can give donations which will be used to run the temple and pay for the meals.

Finding accommodation close to an MRT station can be very useful. The public transport system is not only efficient but is also quite extensive. Tourists interested in short stay apartments Singapore within easy reach of a MRT station can try Riverdale Residence Singapore. They offer a fine serviced residence Singapore within the vicinity of many local shop, restaurants and bars.
